There are three main ingredients for the perfect Friendsgiving: friends, food and fun. Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate those you love, and who better to do that with than the family you choose? In Sisters, we know all about coming together with your best people for a grand holiday celebration. That’s why it’s one of the best places for your next Friendsgiving!

From delicious communal meals to fun turkey-themed activities, you and your best pals will find an array of great things to do and experience on your grateful getaway. To get started, here is your go-to guide to planning the ultimate Friendsgiving in Sisters, Oregon.

Friendsgiving Meal

For the ultimate Friendsgiving meal, head over to The Suttle Lodge and Boathouse for the annual Turkey Meatball Thanksgiving. This fun communal feast features their famous turkey meatballs – and other traditional Thanksgiving eats – professionally paired alongside complimentary wines by L’Angolo Estate. The sides are scrumptious and vegetarian, so it’s perfect for the whole crew. November 28, 2-9 p.m.

If you want your Friendsgiving to be a group-only affair, you’ll be pleased to find a variety of stores in Sisters that offer everything you need to prepare a delicious meal. From organic markets to fresh produce stands and retail stores, you won’t lack for options here. Plus, your Friendsgiving feast will be easy to prepare in any of our Sisters vacation rentals! Our newly remodeled Timber Creek Escape hosts seven guests and has a full kitchen, a convenient island bar for easy conversation, and a complimentary BBQ for preparing your Thanksgiving dishes.

Friendsgiving Activities

If your group is an active one, try celebrating Friendsgiving at HooDoo’s Redmond Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day! This fun annual event features 5K and 10K races with prizes for the winner of each age group (plus some sweet race swag for all). Dress in your most creative Thanksgiving costumes (think turkey tails, hats, etc.) for a chance to win the costume contest and a delicious pumpkin pie. There’s also a fun after-party, and if you pre-register you’ll get an all-day lift ticket to HooDoo Ski! Visit the event page for more information.

Who says Friendsgiving ends after dinner? Take your group into the holiday season by attending the Sisters Holiday Celebration on November 29 and 30. The party starts at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, where you can enjoy hot cocoa, Christmas lights, and carols at the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Saturday at 2, see the city’s creative cheer and welcome Santa Claus at the Sisters Christmas Parade (remember – you’re never too old for some coal).

Hop up your Friendsgiving with a craft beer adventure! Sisters is home to Three Creeks Brewery, a 10-barrel brewing company that uses the finest local ingredients to make their unique brews. Honor your Friendsgiving by taking a tour, sampling a variety of their beers, and enjoying food and games in their bar area.

Of course, Thanksgiving week is a great time of year to enjoy all of the outdoor adventures that Sisters Country can offer. Hiking, skiing, fishing, mountain biking, and more are easily found right outside your rental door. Plus, the low crowds and cool fall temperatures make every day a good day for an outdoor adventure. Give your Friendsgiving a walk on the wild side as you share in unlimited wilderness fun!

Are you ready to start planning a Friendsgiving that your group will talk about for years to come? Book your vacation rental right in the heart of sisters! All of our rentals are spacious, comfortable, full of great amenities, and conveniently located close to all of the holiday fun.
